This course is designed for divers, anglers and all beginners into the boating world. During the course you will undertake short passages safely with confidence. Your last day of training, you will be able to navigate solo and safely in inshore areas. This will cover you for a Powerboat under 10m in length.

Dayskipper Practical Course Certificate.

Tuition over 4 days.

This course is designed for larger vessels capable for longer passages offshore teaching boat handling, navigation, tides, meteorology and rules of the road. The RYA Dayskipper course will cover all aspects of planning and executing passages in the day and at night you will be taught how to operate chart plotters, GPS and radar in any visibility. This will cover you for a Powerboat over 10m in length.

Component Crew Certificate.

A competent and confident member and an asset to any crew you join.

RYA Competent Crew is the essential starting point for your RYA training as introduces the absolute beginner to the motor boating delights, it's designed to reassure and build the confidence in the beginner to be able them to enjoy the safe at sea experience. You will learn the fundamentals of crewing such as knots, nautical terms, boat handling. You will visit many beautiful harbours and anchorages in the South and East Coast, if the weather allows, we will complete a longer coastal passage.

As your fully qualified instructor will devote plenty of time to your individual needs. You will learn how to operate flares, lifejackets, safety harnesses, life rafts, how to assist the recovery of a man overboard and participate in at least 4 hours of night time crewing during the course.

International certificate of competence (ICC).

We are also offer the International Certificate of Competence course that is often considered as the 'International boat driving licence'. Some countries may require this or operators, should you wish to use your own boat, or charter one when abroad. This incorporates the Dayskipper course (Powerboat over 10m length) and Powerboat level 2 course (Powerboat under 10m length).

Own Boat Training.

This option can be undertaken on their own boat, rather than a school boat. You can learn any RYA based courses, as above, or have a structured bespoke course to address particular areas that you wish to cover. This is more cost effective on your own boat, 100% of what is covered is relevant to your boat and needs, giving you the reassurance and confidence with your own boat.

We will also advise you on the safety equipment that you have and offer impartial advice that can help to guide you on items that you could consider acquiring.
